Kinkeel (IRE) - Trainer: A W Carroll
Foaled 2 Jun 1999, a bay gelding by Hubbly Bubbly(USA) (10.6f) - Bubbly Beau (Beau Charmeur (FR )(15.6f))

Kinkeel's sire, Hubbly Bubbly (USA) breeds top class staying chasers.

Placed 11 times in Steeplechases with earnings of over £13,500 in prize money, Kinkeel is rarely out of the frame. His bold galloping style and ability to cope with any conditions have won praise from many Club members.

Better still, his last two starts have been his best as Kinkeel is now in his jumping prime and we (finally) know what he needs and likes. He needs 3 miles + (as with Idle Talk (IRE) 14th in the 2008 National, Bubble Boy (IRE), Cloudy Bays (IRE) - all the same sire - by Hubbly Bubbly (USA)) and his doesn't need blinkers, tongue strap, cheek pieces or any other accessory! Only once so far has Kinkeel raced over 3 miles, a good 3rd at Taunton in a Class 4 Novice Chase, close up behind a 135 and a 145 rated horse. Click here to view the race. Earlier in the year he was neverless a gutsy 3rd at Towcester (31st January 2008) on his favoured heavy ground over the minimum trip of 2 miles. Click here to view the race.

Kinkeel is a fine stamp of a horse. He runs well fresh and we hope he will turn into a decent staying chasing in the mud, in NH Season 2008/9. His ultimate target is the last race on the Grand National card, Aintree's fences over 3 miles.

This is primarily a Club owned horse with 3 members currently holding 1/20th shares. More shares are available, Click here for details.

Kinkeel 2nd at Wincanton
Gouranga(GB) - Trainer: A W Carroll
Foaled 11 Mar 2003, a bay filly by Robellino (USA) (10.2f) - Hymne D'Amour(USA) (Dixieland Band (USA)(9.5f)) 8th foal, a FULL SISTER to Prosperine a 1m winner at 2 (heavy ground) rated Flat 88 (RPR 89 over 10f Goodwood at 3 years), half-sister to Chelsea Barracks, a dual 1m-12f winner at 2-3, and Guard Duty, a 16f winner at 4, also successful over hurdles. Dam placed over 10f at 4, and a multiple winner over hurdles.

Gouranga is a very well-bred filly rated up to 70 on the flat, purchased by the Club to go hurdling at Newmarket October 2006 sales for 6,000 guineas. She was given a successful introduction to jumping, including 4th place in a Class 2 novice hurdle at Warwick, and then put away for the summer to fill out and focus on a winter 2007/8 campaign. Gouranga is owned by a syndicate of 6 Club members.

She has an excellent stride and is a typically honest filly, with a number of very consistent efforts behind her on the flat (placed 4 times from 7 starts). Her Sire Robellino was by Roberto, the only horse to beat the legendary Brigadier Gerrard. Her pedigree profile is most progressive, and she has now come into her own this 2007/8 NH season over a staying trip.

A stunning 2nd at 50/1 at Taunton Feb 7th over 3 miles 0-90 mares only h'cap hurdle. Click here to view the race. Next runs on our Annual Guernsey Racing Trip, L'Ancresse Monday 5th May.

Gouranga
Lordship (IRE) - Trainer: A W Carroll
Foaled 17 March 2004, a bay gelding by King's Best(USA) (8.7f) - Rahika Rose (Unfuwain (USA)(10.8f))
3rd foal, half-brother to King's Point, smart triple winner over 6f-1m at 2 & 4; dam quite useful triple 7f-1m winner at 3, grand-daughter of smart sprinter Rambling Rose.

A 40,000 guinea yearling bred in Ireland by the famous breeder John Costello, Lordship was purchased at the Newmarket October 2006 sales by the Club for 8,000 guineas and is owned by a syndicate of 9 Club members. Lordship came to us on the recommendation of our trainer Tony Carroll, as a particularly well-made and well-bred colt with potential, but slightly immature and backward in racing development. He was sold out of the select Newmarket yard of Michael Jarvis and purchased by us from wealthy middle-eastern owners. Since purchase his value has risen to somewhere circa. £30,000 and despite several victories he remains exceptionally well-handicapped.

The story for Lordship was to give him the time he needed to come to himself and display his ability. We discovered he has a preference for ground with cut, has plenty of gears under the bonnet, and an amazingly strong turn of foot on soft going. We gave him the time and priority attention he needed and he rewarded us by winning at Warwick (12/7/07) on good (good to soft in places) and again at Folkestone on heavy. He has also been placed four times and won nearly £10,000 in his first season at Group 1.

Lordship had a well-earned Winter break, has resumed training and will be running early May 2008. Everyone connected at the Club can't wait to see what this most progressive and likeable individual can achieve in Summer 2008, where again he will visit many of the top flat racing courses in the UK.

Lordship in the parade ring at Brighton, Mark Coumbe up
Robbmaa (FR) - Trainer: A W Carroll
Foaled 28 Feb 2005, a black gelding by Cape Cross(IRE) (8.5f) - Native Twine (Be My Native (USA)(11.7f))
12th foal, half-brother to Group winning horse Tahreeb, triple 6f-1m winner at 2-3, quite useful Ihtiyati, multiple 7-12f winner at 2-7, & Lusitanie, 12f winner at 3-4 in Germany; dam useful multiple 6-12f winner at 2-3 at home & in US.

A 220,000 euros yearling Robbmaa was purchased at the Newmarket October 2007 Sales by the Club for 10,000 guineas and sold as a partnership horse at £1,100 per share (essentially at cost) in 10 shares to include transport home, gelding and incidental costs.

In 2007 we again followed the same profile as our successful purchase Lordship (IRE), targeting with our trainer Tony a slow maturing 2 year old, with a fine pedigree from a top yard. Robbmaa is exactly that. A lovely individual, compact and well put together with an excellent manner about him. He was good enough and well-bred enough for Sheikh Al Maktoum to pay 220,000 euros for him in August 2006. He's a very nice type who with Group 1 Racing will receive the time he needs to display his fine racing potential.

His pedigree suggests he might start out over a mile on the flat, but could easily step up to be effective over further. His Sire, Cape Cross, is top class and Sire of the famous multiple Group 1 winning champion mare Ouija Board.

The Dam, Native Twine, was Henry Cecil trained in Newmarket and a multiple Listed race winner at 3 (RPR 110 over 10f), and a highly respected broodmare. Robbmaa has lots of superb half-brothers and sisters including two Group stakes performers and several others who achieved career earnings of £30,000 - £50,000. The family profile is mightily progressive right through ages 3, 4 and 5.

Robbmaa is black with a hint of bronze around the muzzle looks a million dollars now filled out and ready to race. He is expected to visit many of the main UK flat courses.

Prospects for an exciting Summer 2008 flat campaign look very good and we can't wait to see what he can do. First race for Group 1 also in May 2008.

Pips Assertive Way - Trainer: A W Carroll
Foaled 23 May 2001, chestnut mare by Nomadic Way(USA) (16.0f) - Return To Brighton (Then Again(7.6f))

Another bold front-running type who gives her rivals plenty to think about with her fine jumping over hurdles. Her dam, Return to Brighton, won on the flat and over hurdles, (breaking the course record at Fontwell Park) and was placed a further 10 times. The Club lease Pip from her private owner, an ex-Club member who bred her and now lives in Western Australia.

Pip recently won in fine style by 7 lengths at Stratford
(27/10/07), on her preferred good to firm going. Click here to view the race.

It's fair to say she is something of a Stratford specialist, with a further win at that track and many place efforts to her credit. A tough mare, she worked hard this season and has now finished a well-earned rest. The Spring of 2008 will see Stratford and Worcester as her likely targets. Her first race of 2008 will be at Worcester on Wednesday 30 April.
